Hape Gourmet Grill with Food

Fire up the fun — the Hape Gourmet Grill with Food is the backyard BBQ your little grill master has been dreaming of, minus the smoke, the heat and the parental hovering. This beautifully crafted wooden grill is loaded with realistic touches: a curved hood that lifts open and closes with a satisfying clunk, temperature knobs that click as they turn, and double-sided grates that slide out to reveal painted glowing coals underneath — watch out, it's hot in there! The collapsible side table flips down when it's time to serve and up when prep begins, and the moveable wheels let your chef roll the whole operation from the playroom to the patio depending on the day's dinner plans. But the real joy is the food: 22 pieces in all, including two skewers, fish, steaks, shrimp, mushrooms, bell pepper slices, sausage, chicken and tofu, plus ketchup and mustard bottles and a pair of tongs for flipping. Little ones can thread ingredients onto skewers, sizzle steaks on the grates and dish up a full barbecue feast for the family. Built from birch plywood, maple and MDF with child-safe water-based paint, it's sturdy enough for years of summer-afternoon role play, storytelling and social cooking with friends. Ages 3 and up.
